RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acting as MLRO/DMLRO/CO on regulated client entities of Apex companies (Mauritius campus) and carry out duties as per local regulatory requirements, including amongst others:
    • oversight of compliance monitoring program and conducting CDD testing & transaction monitoring
    • preparing periodic report to Board of client entities and presenting the reports to the board of directors of client entities
    • monitoring of remedial actions for areas of non-compliance identified as part of testing conducted
    • ensure AML/CFT Policy of client entities is aligned to local regulatory requirements and same is re-assessed on an annual basis
    • prepare Business risk assessments for client entities on an annual basis
    • assist on AML/CFT independent audit for client entities
    • assist on regulatory inspections including offsite and onsite inspections
    • prepare and maintain relevant registers as may be required under regulation
    • provide guidance to team on AML/CFT queries, risk assessments and other queries
  • Assist line manager in day-to-day work including amongst others:
    • design, review and update formats of compliance reports, including Compliance KPI
    • assist in design and drafting of AML/CFT policies and procedures, and business risk assessments where necessary for client entities
    • assist in preparation of AML/CFT training
    • assist in training, coaching and guiding of junior staffs in team
    • review of work of junior staffs in team
  • Monitor developments in local regulatory landscape and suggest implementation plans based on impact;
  • Liaise with local authorities such as FSC /ROC/FIU;
  • Reporting to line manager on KPIs, compliance breaches, assigned task
  • Attending AML training and ensuring training log is updated as and when required
  • Update timesheets in line with Apex policy
  • Update sharepoint/citrix or any other systems used by Apex and ensure completeness on a live basis and ensure all files are in order. No file / archiving on emails or on desktop or one drive at all times
  • Ensure use of knowledge academy for compulsory trainings and meet training deadlines
  • Adaption to all technology already deployed and that will be made available through Apex

LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT

  • Assist with training, supervision of subordinates/team members as the business expands.
  • Foster and maintain strong team spirit and a healthy working atmosphere.
  • Support line manager to monitor cost drivers and identify reductions initiatives, and reduce operational losses yearly.
  • Assist line manager to identify, develop and retain key talent as well as own the succession plan for the teams.
  • Act as a technical resource to the team in order to deliver an excellent service
  • Collaborate with technology and other teams to agree and prioritise programme goals and objectives as well as intellectual property development.
  • Ensure adaption to all technology already deployed and that will be made available through Apex.
