Our company was founded in 1973 in Luxembourg. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Hamburg-based private bank M.M.Warburg & CO (AG & CO) KGaA, we made it possible for institutional investors to directly access the Luxembourg financial market. This makes us one of the most experienced depositaries for traditional and alternative investment structures in the Grand Duchy.

In 2017 the bank was acquired by the Apex Group and renamed to the European Depositary Bank (EDB) in 2019.

We currently hold fund and securitisation structures with a total value of $260 billion. This is mainly allocated to alternative investments, including real estate, private equity, private debt and renewable energies & infrastructure (as of March 31, 2024).

For the avoidance of doubt we do not deal with retail clients. We neither offer any securities (bonds, shares, notes etc.) nor do we act on behalf of any other financial institution to offer such securities to any clients.

We are currently looking for a Depositary Officer (m/f/d) to support our Depositary Oversight department in Luxembourg. If you want to be part of our multidisciplinary team and are interested in this excellent opportunity, please apply for this role.

The Role and Key Responsibilities

• Performance of oversight duties for funds investing in alternative and liquid assets amongst others such as asset ownership verification, cash flow monitoring and NAV checks.
• Involvement in fund launches and migrations, as well as the analysis and updating of the fund documentation (prospectus, Operating Memorandum, etc.) throughout the entire fund life cycle.
• Execution of funds audit (Depositary confirmations).
• Representation of Depositary in board meetings and preparation of reporting.
• Acting as first operational point of contact for all stakeholders of the fund.
• Supporting any other task or project related to the client portfolio.

Skills and Experience

• Banking apprenticeship and/or Bachelor ’s / Master ’s degree in relevant field (Economics, Business Administration, Finance).
• First practical experience in a similar role is considered an advantage.
• Basis knowledge of fund structures as well as related functions (Depositary, Management Company, Alternative Investment Fund Manager, Central Administration, etc.).
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, combined with a structured way of working.
• Ability to work successfully both autonomously and within a team.
• Ability to set priorities, remain flexible, and maintain highly accurate.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products; experience with additional system such as IBSY, eFront and VBA for process automation is considered an advantage.
• Fluent in English.
