The Role:
Centralized Access Control (CAC) Analyst operates as a specialized function within the Apex Group Global IT Service Desk. The team is responsible for the secure and timely revocation of user access to the application, ensuring compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards. This includes monitoring and processing access termination requests, deactivating accounts for leavers, movers, or role changes, and maintaining accurate documentation for SOC and internal audits. The CAC Analyst also supports the creation and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and collaborates with other IT and business teams to safeguard systems and data. The position reports to the IT Service Desk Manager and may require working in staggered shifts (+/- 3 hours from core business hours) based on business requirements. A weekend working on a rotational basis will also be required, depending on operational needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage access termination request queues in ServiceNow, ensuring timely assignment and resolution.
- Revoke application access for terminated employees, internal transfers and users no longer requiring access.
- Provide supporting evidence of access revocation in response to SOC and other audit requirements.
- Conduct monthly monitoring of inactive accounts across applications, revoking access as required.
- Support and participate in weekly access reviews and compliance audits.
- Create, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to access revocation and audit processes.
- Collaborate closely with HR, Hiring Managers, Local IT, and resolver groups to ensure timely and accurate access revocation in line with SLAs and company policies.
- Prepare reports on terminated accounts and audit findings for management review.
- Escalate risks or delays in access to termination to management in a timely manner.
- Contribute to continual process improvements to strengthen access control and compliance.
- Perform end-of-shift validation to confirm all required user access and accounts have been successfully revoked.
Experience and Skills:
- 1–2 years of experience in application access revocation, IT support, or related IT operations function.
- Basic knowledge of user account management, permissions, and security protocols.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, SOC audits, and related audit processes.
- Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Experience with documentation, reporting tools, and spreadsheets.
- A strong customer service orientation, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory, Azure, or other access management tools.
- Knowledge of role-based access control (RBAC) and IT security best practices is desirable.
- Familiarity with the ITIL framework is an advantage.
