What you do:
When something threatens to disrupt our business — whether it's a major outage, a crisis event, or a risk tied to one of our key vendors — you're the person who makes sure we're ready for it, and who helps guide the company through it. You'll lead a talented team responsible for keeping Allianz Life resilient: prepared before disruptions happen, and steady and coordinated when they do.
This role sits at the center of how we protect our business and our people. You'll oversee how we plan for and respond to major disruptions, manage risks tied to our third-party vendors, and help bring together the technology, security, and business teams working on digital resilience — so everyone is pulling in the same direction. You'll also make sure our work stays aligned with Allianz policies and standards that guide how we manage risk and resilience — an area that's grown a lot in importance in recent years. You'll partner closely with leaders across IT, Information Security, Physical Security, Vendor Sourcing, and the business, and you'll be a trusted voice senior leaders turn to for clear, practical guidance — both in calm times and in the middle of a live situation.
If you're someone who's energized by solving complex problems, building strong relationships across an organization both locally and globally, and helping a company stay strong no matter what comes its way, this role offers real visibility and impact. You will report to the Vice President Protection & Resilience.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Leading our approach to business continuity, crisis response, and vendor risk management — making sure we're prepared, not just reactive.
- Bringing technology, security, and business teams together around a shared digital resilience strategy.
- Keeping our function aligned with Group-wide policies and mandates that support our broader compliance obligations — an area that continues to grow in scope and importance.
- Building and developing a high-performing team, and creating a strong, supportive place for them to grow.
- Acting as a translator between technical detail and business impact — helping leaders across the company understand risks and make confident decisions, quickly when needed.
- Building strong relationships across the company, including with technology, security, and vendor management teams.
- Bringing fresh thinking to the role, including exploring how tools like AI can make our work faster and smarter.
What you bring:
- 8+ years of experience in operations, risk, or compliance-related roles, ideally across a few different business areas.
- 4+ years leading teams and driving results that matter to the whole organization.
- Experience with business continuity, crisis management, or vendor/third-party risk.
- A knack for explaining complicated topics in simple, practical terms — especially to people who aren't specialists.
- Comfort building relationships and influence across many parts of a company, even without direct authority over every team involved.
- A calm, clear-headed presence, especially when things get stressful.
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas.
