Test and Release Manager (m/f/d)_2702
Allianz Insurance • Bratislava, SK
About the Job
The Test and Release Manager is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery lifecycle — from acceptance of deliveries through quality assurance, testing, and deployment. This role coordinates testing and release schedules across organizational entities, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and in line with the plan, with particular focus on complex projects with multiple dependencies. The Test and Release Manager also ensures that all processes comply with internal and external standards and regulations, safeguarding compliance and security requirements throughout the software delivery pipeline.
What you do
- Own and manage the full delivery acceptance process: validate incoming deliveries, assess quality, coordinate and execute testing activities, and oversee deployment to TEST and PROD environments.
- Plan, maintain, and communicate the release calendar; align testing and deployment schedules with all stakeholders and vendors to prevent conflicts and avoid unplanned emergency releases.
- Design, prepare, and maintain test plans, test cases and test scripts covering functional verification, regression, integration, and system testing; verify that deliveries meet acceptance criteria before UAT handover.
- Identify, track, and resolve release-blocking issues early, reducing deployment time and minimizing the risk of failed go-lives.
- Ensure all release and test management activities comply with internal governance standards, security policies and applicable external regulations.
- Act as the central coordination point between IT analysts, development teams, infrastructure, and business units.
- Maintain clear release and test documentation and continuously review and improve release and testing processes, tooling, and best practices to increase efficiency and support continuous improvement.
What you bring
- Proven experience in release management, test management, or IT delivery coordination in complex, multi-dependency environments; strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes across TEST and PROD environments.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project delivery, release management, or a related field; prior hands-on experience in a software testing role is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies with focus on functional, regression, integration and system testing in pre-UAT phases, including hands-on experience preparing test plans, test cases and test scripts as well as evaluating test outcomes to communicate a clear UAT entry recommendation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, able to coordinate across development, operations and business teams and drive alignment under time pressure.
- Solid understanding of IT governance, compliance frameworks and security standards as they apply to software delivery and release processes.
- Education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; relevant trainings or certifications (e.g. ISTQB, ITIL, SAFe) are a plus.
- Basic knowledge in AI technologies, principles and their practical use.
