Valuation Specialist (f/m/d) - Limited to 24 months

We are currently hiring a Valuation Specialist (f/m/d) to support the Independent Price Verification Team.

This position will be based in Frankfurt.

What you will do

  • Verify the accuracy of externally sourced prices for listed instruments (e.g. Bonds, ABS, Convertibles, etc.) and of externally sourced market values for OTC derivatives (e.g. Options, IRS, CDS, etc.)
  • Determine fair values of less liquid securities (e.g. Distressed debt, Delisted equity, 3-rd party alternative investment funds, etc.) by means of an appropriate valuation model
  • Model non-plain vanilla OTC derivatives (e.g. Swaptions, Basket CDS, etc.) with tools provided by 3-rd party vendors (mainly Bloomberg)
  • Resolve time critical valuation issues respecting investment funds´ cut-off times
  • Communicate effectively to internal stakeholders (e.g. Risk Management, Investment teams, Legal & Investment Compliance, Fund Administration, etc.)

What you bring

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or related field
  • Knowledge of the most widely used valuation models (e.g. Discounted Cash Flows, Enterprise Value, Black Scholes, Stochastic Volatility, Hull-White, etc.)
  • Microsoft Office (especially MS Access and MS Excel)
  • Excellent people skills and good communicator; must be able to effectively communicate to various levels (management, investment professionals, client service, outside business partners)
  • Calm under pressure
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in an organized and methodical manner
  • High commitment, motivation and willingness to take on responsibility
  • The ability to work independently as well as the ability to work flexibly in a team environment
  • Fluency (in spoken and written) in English

Preferred:

  • Relevant experience within the financial industry, preferably in the asset valuation function of an international asset manager
  • First-hand experience with the pricing service of the major data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, S&P, LSEG, etc.)
  • Coding skills in Python and SQL
  • Experience in developing new IT applications for streamlining processes
  • CFA or FRM charter
  • Fluency in German both spoken and written
