We are seeking a highly motivated Credit Officer to join the Derivatives Competence Centre Team within Credit Risk Asia. This is a unique opportunity to develop expertise at the intersection of Credit Risk, Derivatives, Market Risk and Private Banking, supporting some of the region's most sophisticated trading clients. You will work closely with Front Office, Markets, Legal, Risk and Operations teams to structure credit solutions, assess trading-related risks and manage complex client portfolios with significant FX and Equity derivatives activity.
YOUR CHALLENGE
Credit Structuring, Approval and Management
- Structure and approve credit facilities for HNW & UHNW clients with FX and Equity OTC and ETD trading activity.
- Partner closely with Relationship Managers and product specialists to facilitate client business while maintaining sound risk discipline.
- Monitor trading exposure and review collateral and margin netting arrangements for sophisticated client portfolios.
- Manage margin shortfalls, limit excesses and portfolio risks.
Derivatives & Margining Expertise
- Provide expert advice on derivatives-related credit risk matters.
- Support assessment of FX and Equity OTC and ETD derivatives transactions and positions.
- Develop expertise in margining methodologies, collateral frameworks and netting arrangements.
- Depending on experience level, act as a subject matter expert or develop specialist expertise in trading-related credit risk topics.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with Front Office, Markets, Legal, Operations and Risk partners.
- Support transaction execution through close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Work with Legal and external counsel on specialised trading documentation where required.
- Communicate risk recommendations clearly and credibly to senior stakeholders.
Projects & Change Initiatives
- Contribute to projects focused on risk methodology, infrastructure and process enhancements.
- Support automation and data-driven improvements to risk monitoring and reporting.
- Participate in strategic initiatives involving margining systems, collateral management and risk analytics.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to drive best practices across the organisation
Regulatory Responsibilities &/or Risk Management
- Demonstrate appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
YOUR PROFILE
Professional and Social
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in Credit Risk, FX trading, Market Risk or related disciplines.
- Strong analytical skills and risk judgement.
- University degree in a relevant discipline.
Preferred Experience
- FX products and trading activities.
- OTC and ETD Equity derivatives.
- Understanding of margining, collateral management and netting.
- CFA, FRM or similar qualification.
- FX trading/sales or Market risk specialist looking to join a credit team covering large trading clients
- Exposure to risk systems, data analytics tools and trading platforms such as Murex, MarginMan, Bloomberg, SQL or Copilot would be advantageous.
