Management Accountant

We are currently looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Management Accountant to help drive robust financial governance, process improvement, and high-quality reporting across our global operations. In this role, you will ensure the integrity of financial records, manage projects linked to regulatory change, and deliver insightful financial and management reporting, including KPI analysis that supports strategic decision-making across the business. Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate strong self-review and analytical skills, generating ideas and solutions to accounting and process challenges.
  • Maintain effective organisation to meet deadlines while proactively identifying opportunities to enhance and implement new or improved financial processes
  • Able to manage any assigned project work in conjunction with allocated “BAU” responsibilities
  • Provide senior management, both within Finance and throughout the Business, with financial information by producing accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis against projections and historical trends while providing insightful verbal and written commentary
  • Liaise with Office Heads in FP&A review, analysis and challenge of KPI metrics each month
  • Aid commercial planning by assisting senior stakeholders with the preparation of annual forecasts
  • Ensure an efficient financial month-end close process, with timely and accurate preparation and posting of manual journals.
  • Own the timely and accurate production of Financial Statements for the allocated legal entities
  • Help execute an efficient and effective year-end audit process by undertaking advance audit planning, providing timely responses to external auditors’ queries where applicable, adhering to the deliverables timetable, and maintaining a strong working relationship with the external audit staff
  • Help execute an efficient and effective year-end tax preparation process by providing the appropriate support accounting documents required in order to complete the tax return
  • Prepare bimonthly GST returns for the relevant entity to a sufficient quality that they can be reviewed by the Tax Department prior to submission
  • Ensure the effective maintenance of internal controls by remaining vigilant, professionally sceptical and independent, as well as providing the appropriate level of challenge to the business
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the role through identification and participation in appropriate training, both individually and in regard to direct reports, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training
  • When dealing with all customers, clients or colleagues ensure that we provide a clear, fair and consistent high quality service that presents a professional and positive image of CMC Markets

Key Skills & Experience

  • Ideally part qualified accountant - ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent qualification
  • Financial Statements preparation experience
  • Management information packs preparation experience - ideally
  • Ability to assist with tax work including regular VAT returns and the annual tax returns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ensures accuracy in own work and in the underlying data
  • Experience of managing multiple deadlines with a track record of delivering under pressure
  • Willing to learn, bright and inquisitive, takes personal responsibility to deliver results
  • Intermediate Excel knowledge
