Job Overview

As a Test Automation Engineer of ING Hubs PH Retail Tech, he/she plays a key role in maintaining the high degree of confidence that ING clients have in conducting business with us by providing automated testing solutions to ensure that the software release to our end-users is reliable and of highest quality.

The role requires active collaboration with the developers, stakeholders, customer journey experts, and teams outside his area. He/she is also expected to report to his squad and his chapter lead.

The team

You will be part of the Global Account Management System area within Wholesale Banking Tech, Network and Core Banking. You will collaborate with multiple teams spread across domains in Philippines, India, Belgium, The Netherlands, and more.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the effective execution of testing activities, following the testing strategy and best practices and standards, by conducting regular review of quality-related metrics and reports
• Provide complete and organized defect report for any finding during functional / non- functional tests execution
• Maximize utilization of the test automation tools
• Ensure comprehensiveness and reliability of test coverage (includes functional, non- functional, and automated tests)
• Explore and/or establish test automation framework and test automation scripting standards as needed
• Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues related to test automation
• Provide on-demand testing support to stakeholders (e.g. test data creation, production deployment)
• Work closely with the developers and stakeholders, active participation to agile ceremonies (e.g. backlog refinement, planning, daily standup, product demo)

Key Capabilities/Experience

• Proficient in the following technologies:
  • GIT
  • Azure DevOps (CI/CD & Test Plans)
  • Playwright, Cypress or Selenium
  • Programming language (JavaScript, Java)
• Hands-on experience on SOAP and RESTful APIs testing
• Working knowledge on any database (Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL)
• Experience working in an Agile development process
• Familiar with JSON data structures
• Willingness to learn new tools and platforms, including Finacle and INGenious
• Openness to continuous learning and adapting to evolving technologies

Nice to have:

• ISTQB Certification
• Experience with performance testing or JMeter tool

Minimum Qualifications

• At least 3-5 years software testing experience (Manual and Automation)
• Experience in both manual and automated testing including planning, test case design, test reporting and defect tracking
• Deep understanding of QA methodologies, test strategies, and SDLC processes
• A bachelor’s or post-graduate degree
• Experience with an agile way of working
• Knowledgeable about core banking services and related financial services
