We are looking for a highly motivated Financial Analyst, Performance- & Initiative Manager who is passionate about driving finance related projects and create impact on profitability, performance and cost management topics for Julius Baer’s private banking business in Western Markets & Switzerland. You will be joining a dynamic and experienced team of Finance experts who act as sparring partners to the regional senior management, supporting them in achieving their objectives and anticipating trends in the financial performance at an early stage. In this challenging and exciting role, you will be part of the CFO Western Markets & Switzerland team, and report to the Head of Performance Management, Business Partnering & Initiatives

YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Drive & perform in-depth quantitative analyses (using Management Information System) to identify Front Office trends & insights at an early stage with respect to P&L impact and the use of Balance Sheet products and define actionable measures to drive & improve respective performance
  • Lead & coordinate initiatives that trigger improvement of front office P&L performance – incl. conceptualization, implementation and rollout with reporting & progress tracking (e.g. revenue / profitability initiatives etc.), for the biggest Region within the Bank’s global business
  • Prepare concise, insightful & visually appealing presentations on various finance topics for management meetings
  • Act as a sparring partner to the Front in the context of Finance topics, with direct exposure to senior management and key stakeholders across the bank (e.g. Accounting, Treasury, Capital Management, Credit)
  • Run business case assessments and market strategy reviews on a regular basis and derive conclusions for decision-making
  • Enhance Performance Management and reporting landscape to enable tracking of Julius Baer's long term business strategy execution

YOUR PROFILE

  • Strong academic record: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or comparable field of study with above-average grades
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a comparable finance or related function within banking / financial industry or in management consulting with focus on banking
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Private Banking business and global financial markets
  • Excellent slide writing skills with ability to prepare ‘target audience specific’ communication
  • Advanced Excel and data handling skills paired with affinity to derive in-depth quantitative analyses
  • Further knowledge of data analytics & visualization applications (e.g. Tableau) are an advantage
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multiple senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical, conceptual skills, fast thinker and outstanding team player
  • Capital / balance sheet management knowledge (incl. implications of interest rate development) is a plus
  • Strong personal drive with good organizational and multi-tasking skills as well as ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Highly motivated, independent, pro-active and meticulous work method with a results-oriented mindset and problem-solving attitude
  • Fluent in German & English (spoken and written), other languages are an advantage
  • Eligibility to work in the country where you apply for the position
