Senior Financial Accountant - Finance Transformation

LGT Bank (Schweiz) AG • Sydney, AU

LGT Wealth Management was formed around a clear and uncompromising vision – to bring global best practice in building institutional quality investment portfolios to Australian clients. With a shared passion for building an uncompromised business – we created something new from the ground up. A chance to leave behind the things that weren’t working, while enhancing the things that were. Our authentic and personalised client-first commitment. Our entrepreneurial spirit. Our focus in best-in-class advice. And our intimate understanding of the Australian private wealth landscape. In 2022 we became a part of the LGT Group, who shared our entrepreneurial spirit, long-term approach and private-ownership model. Today, with the global expertise, stability, and capability of LGT behind us, we can work without being reliant on markets or margins, with a singular focus on giving our clients the advice and deep expertise they need for generations to come.

We’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to play a key dual role: delivering high-quality financial control outcomes while helping drive meaningful transformation across finance. This role offers a unique blend of hands-on technical accounting and impactful change initiatives, with exposure to system enhancements, process optimisation and automation. If you’re someone who enjoys improving how things work—not just maintaining them—this role will give you the platform to make a real impact. This is a 12-month fixed-term opportunity, with possibility for extension.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver core financial control activities including month-end close, journals, reconciliations and reporting
Support statutory reporting, audit processes, tax and regulatory requirements (e.g. BAS, FBT, APRA)
Partner with the broader finance team to ensure accurate, timely and well-controlled BAU delivery

Finance Transformation & Improvement
Drive and support initiatives to streamline processes, reduce manual effort and improve scalability
Play a key role in finance transformation projects, including BlackLine implementation and enhancement
Identify and implement opportunities for automation, standardisation and stronger financial controls
Improve month-end efficiency through systems optimisation and better use of data and reporting tools (e.g. Power BI)
Document and uplift finance processes, workflows and controls

Control & Governance
Strengthen reconciliation practices, documentation and internal controls
Identify gaps and support remediation to enhance governance and risk management
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability

About You

  • CA/CPA qualified with 3–5+ years post-qualified experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong foundational experience in financial control, reporting and reconciliations
  • Proven involvement in finance transformation initiatives including process enhancement or systems implementation
  • Hands-on experience or exposure to tools such as BlackLine, Power BI, SAP, Microsoft dynamics or similar finance systems
  • Naturally proactive, with a passion for driving efficiencies and improving ways of working
  • Comfortable managing BAU responsibilities while contributing to ongoing change initiatives
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate and influence effectively
  • Adaptable and self-driven, with the ability to succeed in a dynamic and evolving environment

Why you’ll love this role

  • True hybrid role – not just BAU; actively shape how the finance function evolves
  • Broad business visibility – work across financial control, transformation and key strategic projects
  • Supportive, collaborative culture where ideas are valued and improvement is encouraged
