Supports investment managers, administrators, and asset owners with innovative, reliable, and highly configurable platforms. Position Overview

Software Developers play a critical role in the delivery and evolution of PAXUS’s core product suite within the Funds Administration industry. PAXUS is seeking a mid-Senior level professional who will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high‑quality software solutions that support global clients and strategic product objectives. As a senior member of the development team, the role contributes technical leadership, mentors other developers, and works closely with Product, Business Analysis, and Support teams across the APAC region to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure solutions are delivered on time. The position is based in Sydney, reporting to the CTO (Sydney), with flexible working arrangements available.

Position Responsibilities

Software Development & Delivery

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high quality software solutions aligned to business and product requirements.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the PAXUS product suite, including client facing portals and internal systems.
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and performant.
  • Translate functional and non functional requirements into robust technical designs.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architecture decisions.

Technical Leadership & Best Practice

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to developers within the team.
  • Promote and apply modern software engineering best practices, including clean code, automated testing, and CI/CD.
  • Contribute to improving development standards, frameworks, and deployment processes.
  • Support DevOps practices using Azure DevOps and cloud based tooling.
  • Assist with production support, root cause analysis, and ongoing optimisation.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, QA, and Support teams to deliver high quality outcomes.
  • Participate in client consultations where technical input is required.
  • Contribute accurate estimates, status updates, and risk identification to project delivery.

Person Specification (qualifications, experience, skills and knowledge required)

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional software development experience.
  • 3+ years operating in a mid-senior or lead developer capacity.
  • Strong experience with enterprise grade, client facing applications.
  • Technical proficiency in:
    • C#, .NET /.NET Core, ASP.NET
    • SQL Server and relational database design
    • React, TypeScript, and modern front‑end development
  • Desired Experience:
    • Git‑based version control
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Azure DevOps
    • Secure web application development
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and debugging skills.

Essential Soft Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed, cross functional teams.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.

Desirable (Highly Regarded)

  • Commercial experience within the Funds Administration, Financial Services, or Investment Systems domain.
  • Experience with Blazor and MudBlazor
  • Exposure to REST APIs, IIS, and Azure infrastructure
  • Experience using JetBrains Rider or similar IDEs
  • Prior experience working in a global or matrix organisation
  • Postgraduate studies in Computer Science or Software Engineering
