Complex Benefit Accounting Officer
Location: Wollongong
Description
This role is responsible for the daily production and authorization of all system and manual payments across all funds administered, the authorization and transmission of EFT and IMT payments processed through various banking interfaces, ensuring to internal and external SLA’s and the completion of other daily Benefit Accounting tasks. We are looking for someone who has worked with similar role handling electronic fund transmission within ideally in the financial service industry.
Job specification
- Authorization of system and manual payments.
- Conduct a reconciliation between admin cashbooks/End of Day Reports to Oracle disbursement reports, ensuing payments that need to be held or replaced are dealt with accordingly and investigate any errors in a timely manner.
- Authorization and transmission of daily EFT and IMT payments for all funds administered by banking cut-offs.
- Ensure all payment files are setup accurately
- Processing of return monies, stop cheque payments, reversals, voids, the processing of manual payment vouchers and redrawing of payments
- Create and upload general ledger accounting journals.
- Authorization of general ledger journals
- Respond to complex inquiries from other parts business as required
- Training of staff members by ensuring staff are correctly trained in their job responsibilities
- Update team procedures amd assist with any project work including end to end system testing
Skills Required:
- Diploma in Accounting would be desirable, RG146 qualified or aptitude and willingness to complete certification
- Experience in SUN GL, Oracle, Capital systems would be useful but not mandatory
- Experience in Commonwealth Bank (CBA), Westpac Bank & Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) Applications and/or similar banking interfaces used in electronic fund transmission
- Experience in the financial service industry would be an advantage
- Strong analytical, numeracy and problem solving skills
- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills with the capacity to maintain attention to detail, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
