In this role, you will lead and support strategic planning and product development for the Life & Health (L&H) portfolio across the region. You will collaborate with local entities to develop and approve new products, refine product strategy, and provide technical guidance on pricing and underwriting. A strong focus will be placed on monitoring product performance using Life & Health KPIs, while ensuring alignment with IFRS 17 and the Retail Risk Framework.

What you do:

  • Support the regional product approval process, including pricing assumptions, profitability (NBM, VNB), customer value (LR, RiY), and alignment with underwriting and distribution standards.
  • Develop and implement regional standards for pricing, underwriting, and portfolio steering, leveraging group frameworks and best practices from more mature markets. Monitor and steer business performance using key KPIs (e.g., PVNBP, CSM, RoE), identify deviations from plan, and initiate corrective actions. Guide the integration of IFRS 17 and the Retail Risk Framework into product development and portfolio management.
  • Collaborate with group functions (CLH, ADH, AIM) and act as a key contact for product-related topics across operating entities.
  • Engage with the L&H as well Pension communities across the region, fostering knowledge sharing and capability development in actuarial, product, and portfolio disciplines.
  • Support capital-efficient product strategies and manage the transition away from legacy Life portfolios.
  • Contribute to strategic and financial planning by challenging local plans and aligning regional objectives.

What you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Life & Health insurance, ideally in product, actuarial, or strategy roles across multiple markets.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance KPIs (NBM, VNB, RoE) and experience in pricing, underwriting, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with IFRS 17 and risk governance frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English; German or a Central European language is a plus.
  • University degree in actuarial science, finance, economics, or a related field; actuarial qualification or progress toward one is an advantage.
  • Basic familiarity with available AI tools such as ChatGPT.
