About the Job:
As a Technical Release Manager, you will oversee end-to-end release and rollout management for a complex, business-critical application landscape. You will plan, monitor, and control release setup processes; coordinate across customers, IT units, and architecture; and continuously optimize release and deployment workflows. Your work ensures the reliable, high-performance operation of systems in both online and batch modes, while strengthening our tooling, automation, and quality standards across major, minor, and hotfix releases.
What You Do:
- Plan, monitor, and control set-up processes for each release.
- Coordinate and consult with internal customers, IT units, and architecture stakeholders.
- Optimize and document release and deployment processes for the ABS platform.
- Model and package application software (including third-party components).
- Provide client, server, and host components for testing and production using existing tools.
- Create installation masters; verify functionality and installability of software.
- Support and further develop release/workflow tools to manage major, minor, and hotfix releases.
- Document release/deployment processes and defects in Confluence/Jira.
- Approve pull requests during hotfix phases.
- Automate release processes, integrating AI-based tools where applicable.
- Drive cross-department communication and coordination of defined processes.
What You Bring:
- IT education or a degree in (business) informatics, and 4–5 years of proven IT professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of insurance-related IT processes (e.g., batches, backups, online dependencies with web/client applications); interest in challenging technical topics and further developments.
- Excellent analytical and entrepreneurial mindset with high quality awareness and customer focus; confident communication and conflict-handling skills in complex situations.
- Team player with flexibility, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills; able to work autonomously with structured problem-solving using multiple information sources.
- Proficiency with release/workflow tooling and documentation (e.g., Confluence, Jira) and willingness for on-call duty/weekend assignments when needed; skillful use of modern automation including AI-based tools.
- Language skills: very good German and good English; project management experience and agile methods (Scrum/Kanban) are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of AI technologies, principles, and their practical use.
