About the Role:

The Functional Enablement Specialist plays a pivotal role in strengthening the Internal Audit function at Allianz Partners. This position is at the intersection of audit excellence, digital transformation, and AI-driven innovation — supporting the team in modernising audit processes, embedding intelligent automation, and ensuring methodological rigour. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to elevate audit practices and future-proof the function for an evolving risk landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance & Methodology:

  • Champion the implementation of governance, compliance, and quality standards across the Internal Audit function.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously enhance audit methodologies and frameworks — including the Quality Assurance & Improvement Program (QAIP), data quality initiatives, and alignment with IIA Standards and Group Audit policies.
  • Explore and integrate AI-powered tools (e.g., automated control testing, anomaly detection, NLP-based document review) to strengthen governance and assurance activities.
  • Maintain and modernise governance documentation including job descriptions, templates, guidelines, and procedural manuals.
  • Participate in selected audits and evaluate working environments during onsite fieldwork.

Team Competencies & Talent Development:

  • Partner with leadership to assess team capabilities, identify skill gaps, and define future-ready competency profiles — including AI literacy and data fluency.
  • Develop and execute a recruitment and workforce planning strategy aligned with evolving audit demands and emerging technology requirements.
  • Design and coordinate targeted training programmes (individual and collective) to upskill the team in areas such as data analytics, AI tools, and advanced audit techniques.
  • Support recruitment efforts to attract diverse, high-calibre talent to the Internal Audit function.

Planning, Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

  • Support annual audit planning, including risk assessment, resource allocation, and integration of AI-assisted risk prioritisation where applicable.
  • Produce and deliver high-quality reports — including quarterly updates to the Allianz Partners Board of Management, the Audit & Risk Committee, and Allianz SE Group Audit.
  • Translate improvement opportunities into actionable initiatives, leveraging data insights and intelligent automation to drive continuous enhancement of audit processes.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited university or business school.
  • Audit Expertise: Strong understanding of audit methodologies, practices, and frameworks.
  • Digital & AI Readiness: Familiarity with digital audit tools and a genuine curiosity for AI/ML applications in audit (e.g., predictive analytics, process mining, generative AI for documentation).
  • Languages: Excellent command of English; French and/or German are a strong advantage.
  • Mindset: A high-energy, proactive "can-do" attitude with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Influence: An infectious enthusiasm and collaborative spirit that inspires and energises the wider audit team.
