A day in the life of a Lead Finance Business Advice

You lead the process of setting business targets, you coordinate the budget round, monitor business performance and advise on the financial consequences of major decisions. You also lead the process of reporting financial and managerial data and make recommendations targeted at improving and safeguarding financial results.

More particular, you are responsible for the delivery of robust and reliable financial reporting and thorough analyses of the monthly financial results, to understand and explain towards the management deviations versus budget and changes in trends. Analysis is conducted to support the business for strategic decision making and to further develop their business.

You develop and gain agreement to annual business plans for a function or substantial business area, ensuring alignment with strategy; quantify business outcomes (i.e., revenues or other key performance indicators); detail expense and headcount budgets.

You take the lead in the periodic forecast and the dynamic planning process where you will act as a strategic business partner to embed strategic decisions into short- and long-term projections for an Exco member and the management teams of the business.

You take ownership and ensure that irregularities are adequately communicated and dealt with so that the financial reporting can be timely and correctly delivered.

You support pricing framework and advice the business on pricing policy, development, and improvement of profitability.

To be able to perform these activities you make use of complex data. You gather, analyse, and evaluate this data and translate this into understandable advice for the business. You also develop a perspective on data quality and ensure appropriate control frameworks are in place.

The team

You lead a team of 5 Finance Advice experts, set the standards for their expertise area and take responsibility for developing, innovating, and safeguarding knowledge in the field of expertise. You report to the Head of Finance Business Advice and are a member of the Private Individuals Management team.

How to succeed?

You’re the Lead FBA we’re looking for if you recognize yourself below:

• demonstrated knowledge of banking, in particular understanding of products for Private Individuals is an asset
• deep expertise and experience in a financial advice position or equivalent, at senior level
• experience in translating complex data into sound and clear advice
• comfortable operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments and influencing at C-level
• demonstrated experience in high impact leadership
• focus on operational excellence through collaboration, ability to bring people together to work towards the same purpose
• excellent level of English, and Dutch and/or French
• Master’s degree

As a Lead Finance Business Advice, you will have the opportunity to:
